Car Rentals abroad - conditions

Renting abroad / How to rent a car with Europcar abroad

Renting a car with Europcar both in Poland and abroad is easy and comfortable. Make a reservation and check it out yourself!

1.  Minimal age:
To rent a car in most countries you must be over 21 years old. In some cases a young driver charge may apply.

2. Driving licence and other documents required.
A standard driving licence, issued in the customer's resident country, must be shown at the time of rental. The driving licence should be held for the period defined by the local law and conditions. You need to present your driving licence each time you rent a car.

However, Europcar recommends that you held an international driving licence. Polish driving licence will be honoured in most countries ( European Union), however there are countries where non-local Driving Licences (in different languages or particularly in languages using different alphabet structures) are not accepted.

If you would like to check driving requirements, do not hesitate to see the Specific Terms and Conditions per country or contact your station of destination.

Your driver licence itself is not sufficient. An identification document, such as a passport or ID card may also be required.

3. Means of payment
Remember to have a valid credit card with you. Please note, that the Renter MUST BE the credit card holder and must be present at the time of rental to sign the rental agreement and authorise the payment.

Means of Payment Accepted by Europcar:

Even if using a Europcar prepaid voucher (with a specified value or the mention Group Days), you must also present a credit card for the charges which have not been prepaid (extras, refuelling charge, excess due in case of damage to or loss of the rented vehicle).
At certain locations for luxury models a second credit card  may also be required and / or utility bill dated within the last 3 months from the same address.

4. Deposit rules
To estimate the rental cost and acquire a preauthorisation number from your bank, we make a pre calculation of the rental cost, using the following information:

This amount is not debited. It is held on cardholder's bank account until the final rental charge amount is debited.
However there can be exceptions in some countries. Please see our General Rental Terms for more details. Deposits and rentals paid in cash are limited within the Europcar network (where cash deposits are accepted they must be accompanied by additional forms of proof of identity - please check with your Europcar reservations office).
